Rob was raised on a farm in Grain Valley, MO. He grew up attending the Grain Valley Assembly of God Church. He began playing in church as a drummer at the age of 13, and then moved onto the Hammond organ and piano at the age of 16. He has always had a passion for singing and playing music. Also, as a very young child, his parents and Rob would go to the local nursing homes and sing to them on Saturday afternoons. Seeing their faces light up is something he will never forget. At the age of 19, Rob met his ex-wife and her son Tyler, and within 6 months were married. "I know somehow that God made that boy just for me," glowed Rob about his son. Not understanding that being a "gay Christian" was an option, He felt this was the best way to go. Within a year, they had their second child, Kaitlyn. Their marriage lasted 9 years, and being very unhappy in his marriage for many reasons, they were divorced. Shortly after that, he came to terms and accepted himself as a gay Christian and began a new journey in May of 1997. "I am excited about all of the new things God is doing for The Mustard Seeds, and in all of our lives. God is greatly blessing us from every direction. Thank you for being a part of that blessing," statement by Rob to you.
